The culprit

We usually walk to school in the morning. This morning however, after a tiring night with Son Two, I didn't have the energy. We were going out a little while after anyway. So we hopped in the car for a maximum 15 minute round trip. Didn't take anything other than my keys and my phone (and the boys ;-)).

Isn't it always on those days things go wrong? Car wouldn't start again. Blipped the throttle a couple of times, and the pedal fell to the floor with an alarming 'clonk'.

A (relatively) short while later, a very lovely man from the RAC came and diagnosed a snapped accelerator cable, above. I thought him even more lovely when he fixed it there and then!

Was quite peaceful though, sitting by the side of the green for an hour or so with the small one.
Really annoyed I hadn't taken the camera with me though, would have got loads of good wildlife shots while I waited!
