customer what now?

A brief background on myself: I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes mellitus just a few months shy of my second birthday, meaning it will be 20 years this September. I used injections until 2002, when my physician convinced me to switch to a pump because it was more reliable.

Well sure that sounded great when I invested in my first pump 8years ago (and my second about 4 years ago), but I woke up this morning to find that my blood glucose level was in the sky as a result of my insulin pump kicking the bucket overnight.. well not the entire pump, but the battery cap. Turns out the threading in the cap had stripped away, so I can no longer keep a battery in my pump.

Phoned customer service and supplies to order a new cap and, low and behold, they no longer allow pick-up service at the head office (only a 15 minute drive away), so they have to mail me a new battery cap. What?! It may come tomorrow, or a few days from now. Either way, I'll have to reset everything when it arrives.

Lucky for me, I still have my trusty needles from nearly 10 years ago.
I guess you can always count on your old friends.
