a perfect day of following our noses towards a great dinner.

(realise this should read - I ATE DINNER AT THE THREE CHIMNEYS. just to make it a bit less discrete.)

chatty breakfast with london based fenlanders, a meandering drive from portree to dunvegan wandering off to aird head and up to waternish, having the good luck to find a beach to walk on, a restaurant to eat outside at, a woman hand dying wool in huge vats at the end of the road, and on past dunvegan a colony of seals basking on rocks and a white beach made of coral fragments. no guide book just a good map and plenty of time.

made full use of the loveliness of the three chimneys room with baths and afternoon tea and a walk and just sitting looking at the view. dinner at 8 - great food, lovely atmosphere, fabulous evening, and a sparkler on my pudding (and belated b'day greetings)

walked in the dark to settle our stomachs and fell asleep while trying to stay awake to digest it all a bit more.
