Feathering the nest

For ages i watched this robin make this nest over the spring then i didnt see it for ages and it appears to have abandened it. I made sure by leaving well alone for weeks but it definiatly hasn't been back. What a shame. I was suprised that it chose my Ivy to make its home in so low to the ground aswell and we have a large crazy dog bounding playing around the garden. So i have been dying to take a picture of the nest. When you look closley it looks so cosy and well made... isnt nature amazing ???? OMG i am getting old
