May Day in Anstruther

May Day and its cold and grey, but the drizzle has stopped and the cherry trees are trying to inject some colour into the otherwise gloomy scene.

His Lordship suggested that we drive up to Anstruther and indulge in a fish supper from the award winning Anstruther Fish Bar. Done deal, despite my resolution not to eat for a week after the excesses of Stobo
.
We drove there via Kinross and Cupar to villages with interesting names like Dairsie, Kemback, Pitscottie and Peat Inn, and drove back by Pittenweem, Largo and Lundin Links.

In Anstruther, we parked overlooking the harbour and ate our fish and chips and of course mushy peas in the warmth of the car while people and boat watching.

I did venture out with my camera, and did some blipping but was just marginally late to catch the launch of the life boat ( maybe just out for a practice} although I did get a photo of a man at the top of a yacht's mast adjusting the radar antenna.
But I felt nothing compared as an illustration of our day's outing, to the one of his Lordship attacking his fish supper with gusto.

In town we noticed dirty politics in action when we saw a Conservative volunteer, deliberately sliding an electioneering poster for the Lib Dems down a lampost in order to put his Conservative one much higher up. Labour hadn't even bothered to display one. A sign of the times perhaps.
