Patchwork Memories
Today finds TBH and I in the Lake District taking advantage of the Bank Holiday weekend. However before driving down we attended the opening of Patchwork Memories commemorating the mining culture.
A group of women have gotten together in the Buckhaven area and g=created three patchworks with squares commemorating mining in the area. The reason we were there was not only TBH's mining heritage but because one of her poems had been included in one of the quilts. A great honour.
The pic above is of Dysart Colliery Brass Band whose excellent music started proceedings. The photos I took of the quilts I don't feel did them justice so maybe they'll be blipped properly some other time.
