Early Bird

Got up early this morning to go and cheer on three friends who were running the BUPA Great Edinburgh 10K Run.

Unfortunately I had misheard the starting time and arrived at the Meadows very early as the lone blipper. I was quickly alerted by text, however, that his Lord and her Ladyship had parked her Canon bag and high-vis jacket at the other end of the road.

I have run this 10K a few times myself (slowly) and take my hat off to anyone who does it. Thousands streamed past us, many dressed up, however, I've opted for a blip of the frontrunners of the Ladies Elite group - the eventual first, second and third are pictured here. See their furrowed brows in large.

I waited in excitement for the men to come by to photograph the speed of the Kenyans; unfortunately the leader was so fast I managed to get his left foot and a bit of orange vest before he scarpered away through cherry trees.
