Autumn Light
In many ways Christchurch is at it's best in Autumn.
As a landscape photographer, New Zealand is a pretty fine place to be. There's plenty of beautiful scenery - in fact fellow blippers have acused us Kiwis of "having it easy". But the light can be very bright, very harsh. Which is wonderful for playing and living and enjoying the outdoors, but can be tricky for photography.
But on a day like today, when it's bright and clear and sunny for Autumn but the summer harshness is not there and the trees are out in their rich lace and finery, putting on one last spectacular display, the light is ideal for warm saturated colour. Loads of colour. I just love it.
I actaully dialed back the colour saturation a couple of notches on this shot, because otherwise it looked unreal. Truly.
