Te Atua
I learned today that te Atua means 'God' in Te Reo Maori.
This is a carving of te Atua and I've never noticed him before. With the beautiful blue sky behind him, he looked quite ferocious but apparently he is there to protect and look over the students and staff in our building. Hone, our Te Reo teacher wrote this down for me: Ma te Atua koe e manaaki (God is watching over you).
It's nice to know he's there, even if he does look a bit scary.
Oh, by the way, that's authentic bird poo, they have no respect!
p.s.
Dad, you've been looking long enough, take the plunge and join Blip. We're so far apart, it would be great to have a window into your life. Love you. x
