Kirk of St Nicholas
Some of us Aberdeen blip folk (lots of us are also on twitter) have a wee challenge thing going on. This weeks is to photograph something less than a minutes walk from Union Street. Even my wee legs can carry me here in that time so here is my shot - can't wait to see what the rest of the guys (and gals) come up with :)
I often sit in the graveyard here but am guilty of never having entered the building. The reason for this is partially the fact I am a little scared by churches. I adore the buildings but never having been brought up particularly religious I always feel a little like I am imposing. I never claimed to make any sense!!!
There has been an archaeological exploration going on in the East Kirk since 2006, and its well worth a visit. See the website here I found the volunteers to be incredibly interesting and I could have lost myself in the history of the place for quite a while. Alternative view of the window
I was in town because I was meeting Achad54 for a coffee and a natter. It was really nice to meet her again :)
P.s. I know the window isn't straight, but it wasn't straight where I was looking at it from either :P
