A day on the farm

Grace, Ophelia and I had a day out at Wheelbirks Farm today. It only opened about 6 weeks ago, but seems to be doing really well. It has an ice-cream parlour, cafe, and lots for little kids to do indoors and out. Grace enjoyed chasing the chickens and seeing the calves in the shed. She cried her eyes out when it was time to leave! Ophelia did her usual thing and ate and slept her way through the visit!

Ophelia's still not sleeping too well at night. I think it is still a teething problem at times from the screams and how quickly she settles after some teetha powders and bonjela, but there also seems to be a bit of developmental upheaval again too. After a week or so of catapulting herself backwards some by pushing her bent legs into the ground over and over, she also used the technique to move forwards on the bed tonight to reach a book - the beginnings of commando crawling. In bed, she wriggles and thrashes around at night, frustrated and wide awake at times. I can hear her trying to get off to sleep before the screams start, and she does usually settle really quickly once dealt with, so I'm hoping against hope that it all settles down within the next few weeks.

(Side note: introduced Grace to Eddie Spotting today when we saw a Stobart's truck coming towards us on the A69. And can you guess what the name was on the front? Yup, it was GRACE! And later, at the ice-cream parlour, all the tables had names on them, and one of them was called OPHELIA. Ok, so it is the name of a Jersey cow on the farm, but still lovely to see her name!)
