Playdate
..........aaaah, we had such a fun day today. We were invited out to a good friend's house for an afternoon of delicious treats, mud and dirt, and laughter and chit chatting. The laughter was universal amongst the Moms and the kids.........the mud and the dirt was reserved for just the kids. And this blip proves it!
When we first arrived, we were greeted with warm and welcoming hugs, as usual. My son instantly ran towards the other kids and the playing began immediately. My daughter clung to me for a bit as she usually takes a little while to warm up to new situations. We all sat around our friend's glorious island in her kitchen and settled in for some catching up time. As we were talking and snacking on yummy little treats, we overheard the most adorable little voice saying these words to the two 4 year old boys who were obviously edging into her personal space.
Ms. B: (in the most polite and kind way) "Why don't you boys pretend that you are on an island and you don't have a boat".
We all looked over at her in complete shock. Then we all looked at our friend and started laughing so hard. Her response, "Wait, did she really just say that?"
Our other's friend's response (teacher), "She is a highly intelligent little girl". And the little boys response.......nothing, the comment flew right over their heads.
Classic. Truly truly classic! The kids all played so well together and as soon as the back doors were opened up, the water pails started filling and the mud started mixing. It was a perfect afternoon. And to top it off, our hostess served the cutest little cupcakes WITH SPRINKLES!
AND, I got to look through the lens that has completely captivated my friend's heart and soul. Her portrait/macro lens. Her "love affair" lens. We also talked a lot about the "nifty fifty" and why we both think that it is the perfect lens for me to graduate to. Soon. Soon soon soon I hope.
So I would like to end this journal with a special thanks to our bliptastically awesome hostess today. I could sit around and chit chat with you for hours. You know that! And hey, we let a whole hour go by before we even pulled blipfoto into the conversation. A new record for us. Thanks for the fun girls!
And thanks for my new lens cloth cleaner. IT ROCKS! (now I don't have to use my sleeve anymore) :)
