Blipfoto is made up of thousands of individual lives and stories, and we all know the best stuff happens when the community comes together and does something collectively. So, drawing on the inspiration and enthusiasm of Together, we've been thinking about what we could do with a bit more time and planning, and a great space to make it happen.

And here it is: a chance for you to be involved in the world's biggest arts festival.

Our friends at New Media Scotland through an Alt-W award are supporting a month long event at Inspace during the Edinburgh Arts Festival in August this year.

'life.turns.' will culminate in a film; made one frame at a time from images you upload to your journal. Closer to the official opening of the festival, we'll give you the technical bits and bobs that you'll need, but in the meantime the idea is simple...

We're taking the first ever moving picture device; the zoetrope, and combining it with one of the most basic human functions; walking. By taking and uploading images of people in one of eight walking frames, we'll be making a continual film of the blip-community and our friends, family, strangers, acquaintances and accomplices. Content from Blip will be incorporated into the exhibit at Inspace. You can also drop in for a visit to help build the exhibit and even make your journal images into a real-life zoetrope.
