Kirstin
I wasn't sure what else to blip today. This morning I attended the funeral of an old school chum and thoughts of her have pretty much stayed with me all day.
I wouldn't ordinarily have gone as I've not actually seen Kirstin for over 10 years, however my Dad had treated her and kept up with her progress since she had a heart attack 3 years ago. He wasn't able to attend so we agreed that it would be good if I could represent him. Kirstin was the first woman in Scotland to be fitted with a ventricular assist device last year. It seemed to be working well and she was looking forward to getting a heart transplant. Unfortunately she suffered complications and passed away leaving her husband of 6 years and a young daughter.
I remember a bubbly young girl, full of fun and mischief, I think she'd like to be remembered that way.
