Missed Opportunity

Pollok Park again today - second visit this week, this week with Grannie & Papa in tow. Dad spotted a heron from the old bridge near Pollok House, and we spent a while watching it.

After a few minutes, it was attacked by a crow, and a battle then ensued which raged up and down the river. Sadly I didn't catch any good shots of the fight: I'd mucked around with the camera settings a bit to get this shot - in this shady part of the Cart river near the riverbank, the camera's automatic settings were dragging the ISO up to 800, so I was in M. As a result, when the heron took off to chase the crow the exposure was too slow. Oh well. The wee man was asleep through all this, so he missed the show!

I've been out and voted - hopefully you did too if you were in the UK. Many years ago, people died to give you that right.
