Loveliest of Trees the Cherry Now............
Well, my tactical vote yesterday seemed to have helped in the marginal Edinburgh South seat, but hasn't prevented a hung parliament.
The West Lothian question is bound to rear it's head again given that Scotland has only 1 Scottish Conservative seat, 41 labour seats, 11 Liberal Democrat seats and 6 Scottish national seats but has the prospect of a a national Conservative mandate to govern.
Interesting times ahead indeed.
Having finally concluded the sale of the castle, we took a cheque for the deposit on our new Dower House to our lawyer's office on the top floor of one of the new builds in Quartermile. The lift up to level 6 afforded the most amazing views of the skyline over Bruntsfield Links to the west.
My camera was red hot as his Lordship held open the lift doors while I snapped.
One wall of the reception area was a huge window looking over to the castle and the north and which gave me vertigo when I approached it.
Despite the amazing views from Quartermile, I have chosen as my blip the lovely cherry blossom in The meadows which is so transient and will be blown away very shortly leaving a carpet of pink and white blossom.
Tonight His Lordship is taking me out for a meal to celebrate the sale of the castle.
As well as a celebration, it is a time of some sadness having to say a farewell to our beloved castle. But we must move on and think of the years ahead, and there is so much to look forward to in our new home after our move at the end of August, namely the location and ease of upkeep.
So we will laugh and raise our glasses to 'life in the Dower House!'
