Roger Raccoon
This morning in a light rain I stood under a tree and watched Momma Duck march her ducklings from one pond, across the playground and picnic area, to a new home in a distant location. The rain didn't let up, so I headed for home convinced I had a good blip for today.
Later in the afternoon, after the sun had come out again, and the temperature shot up 15-20 degrees, I decided to return to the park. I already had my blip (or so I thought), but I enjoy hanging out in the park and practicing with the different settings on my camera. And it was such a beautiful afternoon. Well, as you can see from the picture above, my blip changed when I spotted a raccoon waddling across the picnic area...the same picnic area the ducklings had crossed hours earlier. This time I watched as Roger Raccoon (or so I named him) adventured into and out of a large trash can and then climbed a tree. If you want to see more of his adventures, they are in my Smugmug gallery.
Our weather today has been weird. It was cool this morning after an overnight rain. The rain started up again when I was in the park the first time, then the sky cleared and when I returned to the park in the afternoon, it was hot and muggy. Tonight the sky clouded over again and we had showers, and now it is thundering, and getting louder and louder. I think I am going to have to shut down my computer soon. Guess that's spring for you...a real changling.
If you want to see the ducklings on the move, look here.
Gotta go, Blippers. The storm is almost overhead. Time to shut down the computer.
