american dipper

the dippers live in and around mountain streams. this one is in the process of building a nest.
I just positioned myself about 15 ft from this rock, which they had been landing on prior to approaching the nest and here is the result.

It is amazing they can fly with this load of moss, and what's just as amazing is they can actually see where they are going.
