Composting

This may be a little too Baudelairean!

But with so many pictures of Cherry Blossoms around it seemed right to redress the balance.

This is the composter! Now the interesting bit is that it is almost all of the time in Stygian darkness. When you whip the lid off there are scores of creepy crawlies, working very hard to perform the ecological miracle. Within literally a second or two they have all disappeared. The light drives them instantly for cover.

No matter how quick, I don't think those slugs, wood-lice, maggots, whatever - would ever be caught on camera. Their work is never to be seen. Only eventually, one hopes, put to good use and enjoyed.
