Freshwater seals?!

On our way back from Blenheim ( see yesterdays blip ) we stopped north of Kaikoura to break up the journey with some fresh air and a 10 min walk up to a little waterfall inland, called Ohau Stream and Falls. When we first saw seals here we thought they were stranded having been flushed up from the sea, but actually there were loads the further up we went swimming and playing in the plunge pool and under the waterfall itself. They didn't seem shy at all!
