That time of year again
Every year Livingston Camera Club holds an exhibition to try and drum up new blood and remind old members that the session Starts on Monday.
So I spent 2 hours manning the desk this morning.
I met a couple of potential new members and picked up a photographic job in a couple of weeks so it was not a bad morning.
After lunch a neighbour called and asked if I wouldn't mind going with her kids and checking the 'body' they had found in the woods................"of course not" - I just Love dealing with dead bodies!!!
So it was time for a walk in the woods, crossing streams, climbing over fallen trees to the body wrapped in a tarpaulin.
6' long tent bag stuffed with personal belongings and a dismantled tent.
Didn't half givve relief to the kids.
Phoned the local police and ended up talking to some woman at the central call centre who didn't know anywhere outside Edinburgh.........THAT was an interesting call!................the computer system has to have a map location before it can create a job to send the boys round. The mapping system of course requires street names (especially when the operator doesn't even know that woods exist).
How do you give a street name to the centre of a wood in a place the person you are talking to doesn't even know exists.
Like I said......................fun call.
I got a visit from a very confused cop.
At least he knew where I was talking about so the ball is now in their court.
Don't you just hate call centres
