Happy Birthday!

Went for a walk at Lintrathen to celebrate. K was dressed in holiday mode, but not really suited to birdwatching or hiking...

Some of the big conifers obviously had very shallow roots and had come down in the winds we had a few weeks ago. They were blocking the path and although it was relatively easy to get over the first two, the third one was huge. We had to crawl underneath to get to the other side . (Needless to say I decided that I was unlikely to get a chance to take a picture from underneath a tree again, so I caught this).

Then we discovered that the tree had also taken out part of the bridge when it came down. Still, we eventually made it to the hide. However, the fishermen were in such profusion that the birds had decided to spend the afternoon somewhere else. (All except for one swan that is. She was keeping a very close eye on them!).

Plan was to go for coffee at Peel Farm on the way home, but it was too busy. Opted for birthday cake at home instead. Lots of goslingsrunning around though. Seriously cute!

Pity the holiday is over tomorrow but will maybe get back to commenting a bit. Got a lot of catching up to do.
