As the day was so sunny and bright, we had to get out into the sunshine. Walked from Little Moreton Hall across fields to the Macclesfield canal. Along to Ackers Crossing and then up through the woods to Mow Cop, a gritstone outcrop standing high above the Cheshire Plain. We had the most amazing views in all directions: the Wrekin; Lng Mynd and Wenlock Edge just within view; Stoke on Trent; towards Wales beyond Beeston Castle; the Sandstone Trail towards Frodsham; the cooling towers at Runcorn; right across Manchester; Macclesfield; out to the Peak District. Our camera, being automatic, doesn't do good shots of views, so I blipped a flag back at Little Moreton Hall where they were holding a living history day. And they have excellent scones with clotted cream and jam.
