Do you remember when

During a long telephone conversation with my Mum tonight she mentioned some pre-decimal currency which she had in a drawer.
I have this old Victorian penny in my purse which I found years ago whilst digging up the garden of my current house.
I cleaned it up a bit and put it next to a new one pence piece....74 years separate these coins. The old one weighs in at a hefty 9grams or quarter of an ounce, the new one weighs a paltry 3 grams. You knew when you had a pocket full of the old ones and remember the sweets you could buy...
