No left turn, straight on, no entry...
Today has been a day of false starts and changing directions.
I got up early to get a few things done, and found myself responding to emails.
I meant to cycle to church, and then remembered that I was meant to be there early to greet folk, so I got into the car.
After church, I met Jill for afternoon tea at Ratho. I meant to chat for an hour, and two hours later was bidding her goodbye.
Before I could join James downstairs to get back to the climbing, I was rushed at by friends telling me he had just fallen roughly, and damaged his arm.
That gave me a few unexpectedly quiet hours in the hospital waiting room, to read and to journal. The elbow was dislocated, with a load of tendon and ligament damage. We have detailed instructions on the pain-management regime.
Now I'm back from St John's, having wolfed a Domino's pizza.
I think I'll go to bed soon, before the day deals me another unexpected direction...
