I quite enjoy books which play tricks with your mind, in which the anything can happen in an ordinary world. Magical Realism is where it's at. My novelists of choice are: Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Italo Calvino, Jorge Luis Borges, Haruki Murukami, David Mitchell....
