Point Reyes at daybreak
I took this shot facing north from the trail that connects Coast Camp with
the beach. You can see the tip of this part of the peninsula. That is the spot that is actually called Pt. Reyes. There is a lighthouse there; it's a great spot for whale watching.
It was a fabulous weekend at Point Reyes National Seashore. Lots of birds graced us with their presence: brown pelicans, an osprey, surf scoters (these are ocean ducks), white crowned sparrows, California quail (with their wonderful cries of "a-HA-ha! a-HA-ha!) and many more.
It was a slightly stormy morning. We expected heavy rain, and heard that electricla storms were projected - a rarity for coastal California, especially this time of year. We got a few fairly small showers, and one brief downpour while driving back.
I backblipped a shot of Sculpture Beach that I took yesterday (5/8). Please check that out too.
