Perception and light

When I got up this morning the light was pretty amazing. It was peaking through the clouds and there were so many different layers. I've lived in this apartment for 6 months. What amazes me each day is how we see things in different light.

What you see across the bay are to docks in Oakland and the cranes that offload the containers. They are miles away but in certain light they feel so close, like you could reach out and touch them.

Then the light will change and they feel far away again. The second shot from the same window with the same lens was taken later in the afternoon.
