A new leaf

Ever have one of those days? No, not one of THOSE days... but one of those moments in time when you feel like you are seeing everything as if for the first time, including the people around you? I am not sure why, but today when I rode the tram downtown I felt like I was seeing it all for the very first time, even though I've been that way many times. Earlier when I had walked Claire to the bus, I saw her through different eyes somehow and realized how proud I am of how she is growing up. And later, after a major mutual mother-daughter blow-up, I realized again how I must grow and change to keep up with her. And how lucky I am to have this wonderful little girl in my life.

Amongst all of that, there was lots to do to prepare for our last minute travels back 'home' to be with family. It will be a short trip, and will go by too quickly, but a trip worth making.

Somewhere between the blow-up and dinner I dashed outside with the camera. This spring leaf inspired me - it somehow all makes sense now (probably just to me though sorry!).
