the chains that bind us

We are bounded by the reality around us, fastened to the Earth through gravity, linked to the web of life, touched by all that we touch.

Many years ago I pulled this chain from the wreckage of an old barn before I burnt the remnants in a massive bonfire. I can only imagine the work it has done before my time.
