Empire State View

A visit to the Empire State Building was a must on our sightseeing list, especially for my husband who had never been before. From previous experience I knew that average waiting times during the day can range from 1 to 2 hours, so we decided to make the most of our remnant jet-lag still waking us at the break of dawn, and set out in time to arrive for the ESB opening at 8am. Seems we were not the only ones with that bright idea, with roughly a hundred people in the Q ahead of us already, but the early start paid off and in less than half an hour we were up on the observation deck. Viewing distance was about 25 miles, and with the rest of the day progressively clouding over the early start turned out to be a good idea from that point of view too.
