My Montreal

To you this is just a pen...

....and perhaps a very boring picture. But to Alex this is so much more.
My son is a bright little thing but this translates to never being able to keep still, always rushing, always pushing forward, thinking of the next project, the next sentence, the next sum, never stopping. He can't stay still.
This means as he does his work he rushes, rushes, rushes so his handwriting has always been a problem and he has watched his friends graduate from pencil to pen all around him and each time he has gotten just a little bit more disheartened.
Today he came out of school with his hands behind his back and a huge smile on his face and as he came towards me instead of my usual hug I had this pen proudly pointed at my face and I swear I thought his cheeks were about to burst.
He slowed down, he took time to listen to all those ideas rushing in his head all the time and let the words come out one at a time instead of all at once ( his words, not mine) and this was his reward. So when he shyly asked me if the people on blip would like to see his pen I could only reply that yes, yes they would love to see his pen.
So to you this is just a pen, but to Alex this is everything.
