Conwy Harbour

Today was less of a solidy energetic day as yesterday, mainly because our legs were a tad tired but also because we just wanted to walk on a beach. So off we popped to the coast, stopping off at Llanfairfechan for a sandyholdyhandswalk (a pretty sparse area tourism and shops-wise, but perfect if you want a long quiet stretch of beachy coastline that goes on for miles and miles when the tide is out). After an hour-or-so of wetbeachyfootstepping we nipped off to Conwy for cockles on the harbour, which is the moment I took this shot as I was sitting on a bench fishing the sandy fellows out of the vinegar n'pepper.

Later we made our way up to Anglesey with the intention of going to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch to visit the railway station (and for me to take a photo of the sign) then nip off to a beach to watch the sunset sitting by a fire. Except when we got there the railway station was not all it had been cracked up to be attraction-wise and had been fairly modernised since the last time I was there as a young teenager (rendering the sign a crappy plain one not really worthy of going to the trouble of getting out of the car). There also turned out to be no road to the beach we'd chosen so a dead end it became and we were forced to make our way back over the Menai Bridge with no sand between our toes.
