The Head, Calne

'The Head' was created for a millennium competition run by the Mayor of Calne in 2000, and was won by Rick Kirby, who had created other head sculpture commissions. The open head facing the library supposedly represents being open to learning and challenges. However most Calne folk seem to think it more accurately (and appropriately) depicts someone lying on the ground with their head kicked in.
