Touchstone Maze

This maze is in Blackmuir Wood near Strathpeffer. Made up of large boulders showing the different types of rock in Scotland. The layout of the labyrinth is based on ancient designs similar to some of Celtic or Pictish origins. Took advantage of a beautiful afternoon to get a little exercise. Beautiful views from the slopes of Cnoc Mòr towards Ben Wyvis and the West Highlands. Views from forest walks are usually next to non-existent but the maze is at the edge of the wood and on the trek from the car park a large area of forest has recently been harvested so for quite a way the path was through a wasteland of stumps.
