Agave Plant
Yesterday, we had an upward look, entitled Agave Buds, taken from the bottom of this remarkable plant.
Today, we have a longer view of the same plant which I suspect is a Golden-Flowered Agave. In June and July, yellow flowers cluster on the upper third of a candelabra-like stalk. The base of this plant is about 3 feet wide and maybe 2 feet high. The stalk must be 35 to 40 feet high.
It is remarkable how such a small plant can support this huge stalk and I wonder how the root system keeps this plant upright in the strong winds such as we have had in the last week.
