It's not what you know......

....it's who you know.....Chris and I were awarded the coveted Red Tickets on our visit to the C&B (Gay Quarter) tonight.

Flippancy aside, I was really saddened to read that my old Scout Leader killed himself over allegations of sex abuse. I'm obviously very sensitive to these sorts of stories anyway (being a Scout Leader), but so much more so because it is Jim; a man I really respect and learned so much from. Of course, I never saw anything of the allegations being made, I'm sure hundreds of boys have nothing but respect and fond memories of Jim's leadership. However, I'm truly saddened and worried that some don't and hope that nothing awful did go on. Facts of the matter aside, the thing that troubles me most is the reporting of the allegations and the choice of final quote to end the story; the neighbour inferring he was an oddball and probably therefore guilty......Evening News......as ever, Evening Bloody Rag.

Feeling a bit melancholy tonight after the news today, listening to this.
