Day 2 - Cleveland, Ohio

Fantastic nights sleep - at least 10 hours. Felt almost human upon wakening. Breakfast in the hotel (with the Wright State University female softball team).

Then to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - the main reason for visiting this corner of the USA. Got there for 10am when it opened, and were soon looking at the excellent exhibits - too much to take in really, but included umpteen historic (including Gibson) guitars, MJ's white glove and Thriller jacket, John Lennon's Sgt Pepper outfit, Bruce Springsteen's Born To Run guitar and white tee/jeans, Slash's top hat, U2 stage sets, Rolling Stones outfits, Pink Floyd's The Wall, Jay-Zs hockey jersey - the list goes on. Oh, and a whole cabinet of New Order / Joy Division goodies, which was a bonus. It really was superb. The main reason for visiting was the Bruce Springsteen exhibition, as JB is the biggest fan in the world, but the rest of the museum was equally a draw.

Lunch in the cafe and then ended the day with a U2 3D concert movie which was outstanding - over one hour and probably as good as seeing them live in the flesh. I was almost clapping at the end of each song.

Left the museum at 5pm after a very full day. Blue skies by now, so a quick beer outside in the Warehouse District, visit to the shops and then back to the hotel. Dinner in the Winking Lizard bar - massive chicken salad and a few local Great Lakes beers.

Cleveland rocks. The perfect place to visit in what has so far been a very rock n roll year.
