I didn't think I'd be the kind of mum who....

....insisted on very girly toys for my baby.

I was going to buck the trend and let my little girl play with all sorts of toys. Tractors and dinosaurs alongside dolls and fairy wands. I didn't want her conforming to society's norms. Not my girl. If anything, I might give her MORE 'boys' toys to play with, just to be sure.

But...

Here is Lyra with her very favourite toy. It is a Lamaze Princess. I didn't choose it for her - it was sent as a substitution for a sold out Lamaze puppy - (a very unisex toy). As soon as The Princes arrived, Lyra became fascinated by her crinkly skirt and tiara and her pretty pink knickers.

Seeing as The Princess brings so many smiles every day, I have bought a pram set for Lyra's dollies when she's bigger.

And it's pink...
