Pussycat Pussycat where have you been...
An eventful day with a racy evening. The day started out with the early morning cycle ride. The weather was beautiful, all cleaned up because of the midnight (quite hopeful and unexpected) rain. I had planned for this ride alone as I was not quite sure if I would be able to make it so early or not. But, here I was paddling to my heart's content. The freshness in the air was very refreshing and definitely a great stress buster. The last week had left some stress mostly work related.
The evening I had planned to go downtown to get a lens cover for myself. I called up pixelart only to get some apprehension first that there has been so untoward instances there. We however edged on by each other finally decided to meet in 20 mins. The ride was good with many different instances and interesting conversations. When we reached there, it was like a kid at the hospital. (Not knowing what to expect ...). I saw the shop as the most over rated photography store. Filthy to the core, as if it was on a stock clearing sale in a dungeon. Hopelessly disguised with silly multi covered curtains, disguised because I thought probably they are diversifying into cloth business. To top it all, the guy behind the counter showed utter callousness to tell us to:
go climb a gum tree
if you want something to buy from me.
Pixelart was also looking for a Polarizer, which also nobody...yes nobody was wanting to sell him. We checked the couple of other stores, who showed the same attitude as the first shop. Feeling dejected we were about to start our journey, when a street vendor sold me a TV remote. Actually V had been judicious enough to break two of them already. So this time I got a remote protector also. We will have to see how this one lasts.
After that we started our arduous journey back. We stopped over at a Bangalore Iyengar Bakery. They are the best in the business, we gobbled up snacks like there was no dinner in the offing. We ate and discussed, how we miss these kind of very good quality and reasonable places in our locality. How we grew up eating the similar kind of snacks and how the new generation will miss the Downtown areas. For many, downtown is another word for down-market and downtrodden. Without being more old-sounding, we concluded that we will try our best not to let this happen to the coming generation(more important for me as Pixelart is still single). We packed some munchies and bakery fresh bread. I just love the over-hot, fresh, soft bread.
Cursing the pollution and dust in the city, we were slowly making our way back home. We were constantly discussing the various Bokehs. We were very intrigued with the various ones we could see around. We saw some lights in the edge of the roads, stationary lights and people huddled next to it. To our curiosity we stopped over and inquired. They were actually rechargeable emergency lights, basically LED lights so very power-efficient. pixelart Bought thinking he could use it to illuminate subjects when shooting towards lights. I on the other hand was buying it for obvious reasons.
When we reached pixelart house. We realized that Adda may also be there at home. We were pleasantly surprised to meet him on his way out for a party (maybe Bachelor's party.) He told that he could be having a lens cover exactly of the size I needed. So after all the trip was not a waste. :-)
