Great Blue Heron

Up close and personal, a Great Blue (probably) posed for this portrait.

I was going to the golf course that is being torn up for new grass (that uses less water) and take a nice bulldozer picture. When I spied this beauty, all plans changed.

Note the reflection of the blue sky to the water to the front of this bird's neck.

The close-up, imho, shows more personality than the standard heron photo, standing on one leg, etc.

Needless to say, there were several shots, including one with a nearby sign that said "Recycled Water - Do not Drink". That was just too cute....
