Audrey II

I honestly tried. We went out tonight and I brought the camera and thought; today will not be a flower Blip, today will NOT be a flower Blip!

Well, we can all see what happened.

It was a lovely evening though. Our friend Stacy was playing at Bell's in K'zoo with her band, and I hadn't seen her in forever so that was all kinds of fabulous. We met up with some other friends there and finally got to meet (what is commonly known as) a .orger* that we've 'known' for quite some time.
We thought the show would be in the beer-garden of Bell's, but no such luck. My camera would have been so much happier outside :/

So, the choice of the day became Audrey II, a fledgling Oriental poppy that makes me want to burst out in 'Mean Green Mother From Outer Space'* every time I see it. I'm a teensy bit afraid I'm going to miss this year's flowers because it looks like they're ready to pop in a few days.
Like on thursday.
