Amazing. I did it, and without a break. Plenty have done it before me and they have inspired me to give it a go.
I stumbled on Blipfoto by accident, and when I decided to join I went to the Waimakariri Gorge because the river was in flood and I thought it might make an interesting photo. And that was the start- I'd never bothered to go and look at in flood before.
Blipfoto has not changed the way I see the world. I always noticed more in the natural world than the people around me, thanks to an uncle who taught me how to look when I was seven years old. What Blipfoto has done for me is to restore my sense of adventure, which I'd somehow mislaid. And it has given me the excuse I needed to spend part of every day doing what I love to do.
The sense of community and the comments of fellow blippers has been a delightful bonus. Thank you all who run the site, who look at my work, especially those who leave comments and sometimes favourite a shot of mine. Cheers to my Blip friends. It's a privilege and a pleasure to be here.
The thought of doing it all again is a bit daunting. Perhaps I'll branch out and try something different occasionally.
Today's shot is a water droplet taken outside in the cold wind, but sheltered from the rain. Yes, rain- the first real rain for months. Photographing droplets has been a passion of mine ever since I saw this shot. Surrounding it are a few of my blips over the last year.
Best seen large.
