The Frauenkirche, Dresden

This beautiful church is the restored Frauenkirche, in Dresden.

8390 sandstone blocks were salvaged from the ruins;
the 3634 that were re-used are recognisable by their blackened colouring.

I attended a church service in this great symbolic building this morning, with two German friends. It was very emotional. The music, as ever in this magnificent city, was wonderful.
