If you haven't seen the result yet... Sod it, I'm not going warn you to turn the sounds down, England are world champions!!! And made even better by it being the Aussies we stuffed in the T20 cricket final.

Incidentally that whole 'if you don't want to know the result change over now' puzzles me. Firstly, if you're desperate to avoid a result then don't watch the sports report of the news in the first place. Secondly, when does the restriction on just coming out with the result disappear? The Monaco F1 result on the radio was prefaced by a warning an hour after the event; would the news at 10 carry the same warning? After all, some people who had recorded the event may not have had time to see the result even then, so why is is acceptable those few hours later merely to blurt out the sporting success? All very daft.

And speaking of announcing results, we watched the end of the young musician of the year thingy on the telly tonight, and it was utterly refreshing for the winner just to be announced. There was no overly-dramatic-to-the-point-of-ridiculous pause before the winner's name was read out.
