Rest in Peace
This is the little black bear cub we have been seeing, lately, on our way out to Ada. Today, near the spot where we usually see him, we saw lots of vultures. Orygon Home Boy stopped to see what had happened. The vultures flew away and there was our little friend, down in the ravine, dead. He had been hit by a car. This little cub was very fast so I can only think the car must have been going even faster on this little two way road no bigger than a one lane road, with lots of curvy turns and blind spots. Why be in such a hurry?
We live in places like these, or vacation in places like these, to enjoy nature, to witness the beauty, and, maybe, if we are very lucky to see a bald eagle soar overhead, a mother deer protecting her spotted fawn, a kingfisher swooping by, a herd of elk grazing in a meadow or a young bear cub scrambling up the hill. Why ever, would you be in such a hurry? Today, because someone was in a hurry, we got to see vultures and a dead bear cub. Rest in Peace, little friend.
