Pond Life

A rather lackluster photo that doesn't really reflect what a gorgeous and beautiful day it was today. Spent most of our time outdoors -- having breakfast with friends, gardening, paddling around the pond. We went out in search of the goose family. Earlier in the week I'd counted seven goslings, but by Friday there were only four. I've also counted at least three different snapping turtles whose shells are at least 15 inches (40 cm) in length. It's not difficult to figure out what has probably become of the goslings.

Today the pond was quiet -- no geese, no beavers, and only one turtle sighting. Saw several frogs in the shallows, including this bullfrog, but didn't hear any of them make a peep.
