Newly unveiled Ataturk Monument

Yesterday my drive home from work was easy with the police apparently holding back the traffic for me to pass through. 'Finally', I thought, 'they've realised my importance and are giving me due respect' :) Sadly that doesn't appear to have been the case. Saw in the papers today that the visiting Turkish PM and Az President were heading up in the direction of my home to unveil this monument next to the Turkish Embassy. I walked past it today to have a look.
