Bluebells and ruin
We don't have the usual woodland habitat for this flower here, though I suppose Windiwick, Trumland House and Binscarth might have some.
I walked the west side of Burray today and across the causeway to Hunda. I found nests, as I passed, of gulls and geese and there were masses of goslings running after their parents. I gave them room so that the parents wouldn't fly off and leave the young to the attentions of the big gulls and skuas. Out on Scapa Flow there was one great northern diver and a couple of red-throated divers which were making that great wailing cry.
