Maple, Brown Sugar and Orange

I don't like porcupines. They smell bad. They kill trees. They have pained more than one of my dumb dogs with their quills. They are rodents with quills. Yet, I find them...interesting. I took my camera home with me at lunch today specifically to shoot a "bouquet" of arrow leaf balsam root flowers I noticed along the lane. Alas, they were face planted due to heavy rain, so that idea was a bust. As I sat down at the dining table to eat lunch, I looked out the window just in time to see this rascal scale the maple tree, climb out on the limbs and eat new leaves. I grabbed my camera, went outside and shot him. I found a new reason to dislike porcupines: the color of their teeth! I DID NOT enhance the color -- they are truly that orange! Gross. Teeth whitener, anyone?!
